One brand, six weave constructions, the full range of thermal processes
Choosing a belt construction is a trade-off between media flow, surface stability and resistance to load and temperature. Below is a starting point - the exact selection is finalized during a technical consultation.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Working temperature range | -80 … +1200 |
| Steel grades (standard) | AISI 302 / 304 / 316 |
| Food safety | FDA · GMP · EC 1935/2004 |
| Width (TwenteFlex) | 150 … 1575 |
| Pitch | 3.5 … 76.2 |
| Drive type | Positive / friction / IDD |
| Supply form | Custom-made |
6 weave families
Types of Twentebelt metal belts
From the flat Eyelink surface, through the maximally open Wire Mesh, to weld-free TwenteFlex spirals - each construction optimizes a different process parameter.
Worldwide market leader
Eyelink belts
Flat, stable surface with positive drive. The single-level weave eliminates the tunnel effect.

We solve conveying problems
We analyze the causes of failures and select a construction that extends uptime.
A plastic belt melts at high temperature.
Spiral Woven Rod Reinforced weave in a heat-resistant alloy - stable up to +1200 °C.
Spiral belt welds crack, cleaning is laborious.
TwenteFlex belt with a bent rod - no welds, no pickling/passivation, fast cleaning.
Product sticks and falls between weave elements.
Eyelink belt (no tunnel effect) or Wire Mesh with a minimal contact point.

Article Wire mesh vs. modular belt in an IQF freezing tunnel - what really lowers OPEX?
Airflow, belt mass and hygiene drive freezing costs more than the purchase price. We compare a Twentebelt metal mesh with a modular belt in an IQF application.

Questions we get from engineers
Are you an authorized Twentebelt distributor?
Yes. We supply original Twentebelt BV (Hengelo) belts - a manufacturer with over 100 years of experience and the worldwide leader in eyelink belts. We provide selection, documentation and service locally.
Do the belts meet food safety requirements?
Yes - Wire Mesh and TwenteFlex belts are manufactured in compliance with FDA, GMP and EC 1935/2004 (TwenteFlex also EC 2023/2006 and (EU) 10/2011).
What steel is used in Twentebelt belts?
Standard AISI 302/304/316 and spring steel. For the highest temperatures, heat-resistant alloys (Spiral Woven RR up to +1200 °C).
How does TwenteFlex differ from a classic spiral?
It replaces welds with a bent rod - eliminating weld breakage and sharp edges, and removing dead spaces and the need for pickling/passivation.
Are the belts custom-made?
Yes - practically every belt is engineered for a specific application: weave type, material, pitch, edges and drive.
Got an application where a standard belt fails?
Send your process parameters or a photo of the worn belt. We will select a Twentebelt solution and give a realistic lead time.
